Margaret E. Wright-Cleveland (Peggy)

Margaret E. Wright-Cleveland (Peggy) received her B.A. in Humanities from Florida State University. She earned her M.A. in English from the University of Louisville and is currently working on her dissertation in American Literature from Florida State University.
Peggy’s research interests include American Literature between the World Wars, African American Literature, and Southern Literature. Her dissertation examines the connections between Lost Generation, Harlem Renaissance, and Southern Renaissance representations of race.
Peggy has taught for both the English Department and the Program in American and Florida Studies. Representative courses include AMS 3310 - Images in Black and White: 100 Years of Race in American Literature and Film; AMS 3310 – American Women Between the World Wars: We’re Not In Kansas Anymore; and AMS 3810 – Re-inscribing Women Into the American Identity.
