Christie Koontz wins IFLA Scroll of Appreciation

Christie Koontz, associate in Information Studies, has been awarded the 2011 International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions Scroll of Appreciation. This award is given to an individual who has demonstrated distinguished service to IFLA. "In making its decision, the Executive Committee awarded the Scroll to Dr. Koontz based upon her professional activities and service to the Management and Marketing Section from 1999-2011. Considered were not only length and consistency of service but the nature and significance of same, which included educational programs and pre-conferences conducted and developed for librarians in over a dozen countries; a marketing glossary translated into eight languages; an international and funded marketing award now in its tenth year; service as information coordinator for the section; and dozens of books, chapters and articles."
